These terms cover buying and using LetterWP, a WordPress plugin made by Owldraft (“we”, “us”). By buying LetterWP, you agree to them. They’re written in plain English on purpose.
What you buy
- A plan gives you the plugin, a year of updates and a year of email support, for the number of sites and subscribers shown on the Pricing page.
- Plans renew every year until you cancel. Founding customers keep their price for as long as they renew. You can cancel anytime from your Lemon Squeezy receipt.
- If you grow past your plan’s subscriber limit, nothing stops working. We ask you to move up to the right plan when you renew.
- If you cancel or don’t renew, LetterWP keeps working. You stop getting updates and support.
Payment
Checkout, billing, tax and invoices are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy’s own terms also apply to the payment. Refunds follow our Refund Policy: a full refund within 30 days, no questions asked.
The software license
LetterWP’s code is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later, like WordPress itself. Your plan pays for updates and support, which only come to sites covered by a plan. The LetterWP name and logo are ours: if you share a modified copy, don’t call it LetterWP.
Your newsletter is yours, and so is the responsibility
- Your subscribers are stored in your own WordPress database. We don’t receive, see or store your list.
- Emails are sent through your own Resend account. Your use of Resend is between you and Resend, under their terms, including their rules on bounces and spam complaints.
- You’re responsible for what you send and who you send it to. Email only people who agreed to hear from you, and follow the laws that apply to you, such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR and CASL. LetterWP helps with double opt-in, one-click unsubscribe and a postal address in every footer, but the list and the sending are yours.
- Keep backups of your site. Use the CSV export to keep a copy of your list.
Support
Support is by email at [email protected]. It covers installing, setting up and using LetterWP, and bugs in LetterWP. It doesn’t cover custom code, other plugins or themes, your hosting, or your DNS provider, though we’ll point you in the right direction when we can.
No warranty, and limits
We work hard to make LetterWP reliable, but it’s provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Email delivery depends on services we don’t control, such as Resend, your DNS and your readers’ inbox providers. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or lost-profit damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters for your plan, we’ll email you before it applies.
