Install the plugin you downloaded after purchase. It takes a minute.
Before you start
- WordPress 6.5 or newer, and PHP 7.4 or newer.
- The block editor. The Newsletter panel lives in the post sidebar, so you need the block editor to send posts as email.
- A domain whose DNS you can edit. Your newsletter is sent from an address on it.
- A Resend account. Resend is free for marketing email up to 1,000 contacts. You make one in the next guide.
- A site that is online at its public address. Resend sends bounces, spam complaints and unsubscribes back to your site, and it can’t reach a site on your own computer or behind a password.
Install the plugin
- Download the LetterWP zip from your purchase email. Don’t unzip it.
- In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin and click Upload Plugin.
- Choose the zip and click Install Now.
- Click Activate Plugin.
Where LetterWP appears
Two new menus show up in wp-admin, right below Comments:
- LetterWP, with three tabs: Overview (your home screen), Setup (connect Resend, once) and Email Design (how every newsletter looks).
- Subscribers, with All subscribers and Import/Export.
In the post editor, a Newsletter panel appears in the post sidebar. On Posts, a new Email column shows how each emailed post did.
What to do next
Open LetterWP → Overview. A card called Get ready to send lists five steps and how many are done:
- Connect Resend
- Verify a sending domain
- Set up your list in Resend
- Choose sender addresses
- Pick an account page
Each step has a button that opens the right part of Setup. When all five are done, the card turns into Ready to send, with your active subscriber count. Below it, Overview shows your subscribers by status and your Latest newsletters.
The next guide walks you through every step.
